Handbook of Women, Stress and Trauma
|

08/04/2006
This new edited collection is a wonderful resource for practitioners and researchers wishing to obtain an accessible, yet well-researched volume covering a range of stressors and traumas that women experience over the course of their lives.
The life span perspective is welcome with an initial set of chapters addressing women in different age groups and different types of stressors such as relational stress, childbearing loss and traumatic events such as sexual assault, elder abuse, health impacts of violence, and child abuse.
The final section of the book really fills an important gap life issues women face in society which make them very compelling to read!
